Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

• Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities to achieve production targets.
• Ensure optimum machine utilization, manpower allocation, and production efficiency.
• Monitor productivity, cycle time, rejection, rework, and downtime, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Store departments to ensure smooth production flow.
• Ensure timely completion of production orders with required quality and delivery commitments.

2. Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure products are manufactured as per approved drawings and quality standards.
• Reduce rejection, rework, and wastage through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and productivity improvement activities.

3. Machine & Maintenance

• Ensure proper machine setup, preventive maintenance, and machine availability.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance team for breakdown resolution and process improvements.
• Monitor machine performance and minimize production downtime.

4. Team Management

• Supervise production supervisors, operators, and helpers.
• Train and motivate helpers to develop into machine operators through continuous skill development.
• Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and maintain discipline on the shop floor.

5. Process & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with ISO, ZED, environmental, and company standards.
• Maintain production records, training documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Ensure effective implementation of 5S and standard operating procedures.

6. Safety Management

• Ensure mandatory use of PPE and safe working practices.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of machines, guards, and emergency stop systems.
• Promote fire safety awareness and emergency preparedness.

7. Inventory & Reporting

• Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods to avoid production interruptions.
• Review daily production reports, approve work orders, and submit production MIS to management.
• Track production KPIs including OEE, productivity, rejection, downtime, and on-time delivery.
